abstract

abstract: subgroup j avian leukosis virus (alv-j) was isolated in the late 1980s from meat-type chickens in the united kingdom. alv-j with exception of some acute variants, cause myeloid leukosis in meat-type chickens with long incubation period.in this study while the status of avian leukosis virus subgroup j in six different strain of broiler grandparent flocks of iran evaluated, the evaluation of different primers and some molecular methods also were done. for this reason, 100 blood samples, which had edta, 100 mixed of white blood cells and plasma and 100 feather pulps were collected from one farm of each broiler grandparent strain. pcr and nested pcr were methods that used for the study. in molecular study before the extraction of dna from samples; in order to decrease the number of samples, 10 mixed of white blood cells and plasma, blood or feather pulp pooled. in molecular study with pcr all of samples were negative, but in nested pcr reaction, from six broiler strains, five strains infected to alv-j. the results indicate that the most of broiler strains in iran have been infected to alv-j. the results also indicate that we can simply use pooled samples for the study of alv-j in a flock by nested-pcr test. key words: broiler grandparent, alv-j, pcr, nested-pcr.

Serologic profile of avian leukosis virus subgroup-J, Mycoplasma gallisepticum and Mycoplasma synoviae in broiler grandparent flocks of Iran.

Avian Leukosis Virus Subgroup-J (ALV-J). Mycoplasma gallisepticum (MG) and MycopJasma synviae (MS) are important pathogens in chickens that cause severe economical losses in poultry industry throughout the world. Seven broiler grandparent flocks of Iran (six broiler strains) were sampled randomly at the ages of 8-63 wk (100 samples from each flock) for antibody detection to ALV-J, MG, and MS ...

MicroRNA-23b Promotes Avian Leukosis Virus Subgroup J (ALV-J) Replication by Targeting IRF1

Avian leukosis virus subgroup J (ALV-J) can cause several different leukemia-like proliferative diseases in the hemopoietic system of chickens. Here, we investigated the transcriptome profiles and miRNA expression profiles of ALV-J-infected and uninfected chicken spleens to identify the genes and miRNAs related to ALV-J invasion. In total, 252 genes and 167 miRNAs were differentially expressed ...

Molecular epidemiology of avian leukosis virus subgroup J in 1 layer flocks in China

23 Avian leukosis virus subgroup J (ALV-J) was first isolated from meat-type 24 chickens in 1988. No field cases of ALV-J infection and tumors in layer chickens were 25 observed worldwide until 2004. However, layer flocks in China have experienced 26 outbreaks of this virus in recent years. The molecular epidemiology of ALV-J strains 27 isolated from layer flocks was investigated. The env genes...

Investigations on the Presence of Antibodies to Avian Leukosis Virus Subgroup-J (ALV-J) in Broiler Breeders and Broilers

The aim of this study was to investigate the presence of antibodies to ALV-J in broilers and broiler breeders. For this, 5 broiler units and 1 broiler breeding unit in the Marmara region were visited. Seventy 4-6 -week-old chicks from the broiler units, consisting of 14 chicks from each broiler unit, were selected. Seventeen chickens from the broiler breeding unit were also selected. The chicks...
